Course Description
English for Success
These courses offer integrated skills at CLB levels 1-8 with an emphasis on improving English proficiency and understanding of Canadian culture, including practice in listening, speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary building, grammar, reading, writing and learning strategies for various language benchmark levels.
TOEFL-iBT & Effective Test-Taking:
This course will focus on all skill areas to develop strategies for college entrance as well as strategies for writing the TOEFL test.
Speaking with Confidence & Writing with Confidence
These courses focus on speaking and presentation strategies & writing and grammar skills, and help to build overall confidence in using English.
Computer Skills
Students in this course will learn several of the MS Office 2010 suite of tools. These courses will focus on building the necessary language skills of the student for success in the job, or in preparation for it.
Food Handler Certificate Prep
This course will prepare you to take the Food Handler Certificate test offered by the Halton Region. Topics include: Foodborne illness, proper hygienic practices, food safety and allergies, nutrition, public health legislation, safe food
handling, food premises sanitation, pest control, etc.
Bridge to Personal Support Worker Program; Bridge to Office
Administration: These programs provide targeted academic occupation-related language training that learners may use to enter college-level programs.
