Co-operative education is a unique learning opportunity that extends classroom learning into business, industry and the community. Co-op programs are available where students work at placements and apply and practise the skills and knowledge gained by taking courses.

This program allows students to earn secondary credits in a work placement with or without remuneration (pay).  Enrollment can take place throughout the school year on a continuous intake basis and can be either full-time or part-time, depending on the student's situation.  A personal placement learning plan is developed by either the student or the teacher that is appropriate to the student's goals and needs.

The student must have a genuine desire to participate in the program, be ready to undertake learning in the workplace, complete related workplace assignments and submit documented hours.  The classroom component is open to accommodating the varying schedules of students through independent learning.  This program allows flexible re-entry to secondary school or post-secondary destinations.

Receiving on the job training, developing business contacts, exploring your career options and building community networking are just some of the benefits of enrolling in our co-operative education program.
